2 men shot in Providence home invasion

PROVIDENCE -- A Johnson & Wales student and another man are recovering after being shot during a home invasion at a house on Federal Hill early Thursday afternoon.

Kyle Carr, 21, the student who lives at 145 Tell St., and Brian Linen, of Queens, N.Y., were shot in the chest when several masked men burst into the apartment and robbed them, said Maj. Thomas F. Oates III.

Another roommate, who happened to return home after the robbery, brought them to Rhode Island Hospital, Oates said. Both Carr and Linen were listed in good condition at the hospital on Friday.

The robbery is under investigation, and it wasn't clear what was taken, or why the apartment was targeted.
