RI to hold Electric Boat employment sessions

The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training will collaboarate with General Dynamics Electric Boat to host employment information sessions this month at the Providence and West Warwick netWORKri centers.

In late May, Electric Boat announced it will add 450 jobs at its Quonset Point facility over the next five years...Currently EB is looking for experienced welders, pipefitters and shipfitters, as well as supervisors. A list of job openings is available at www.gdeb.com/employment/

Electric Boat employment sessions will be held at the West Warwick netWORKri center, 1330 Main St., West Warwick on June 10, June 17 and June 24 at 1 p.m. The Providence netWORKri center at 1 Reservoir Ave., will host sessions on June 15, June 22 and June 29 at 2 p.m.

In order to work at Electric Boat, employees must be U.S. citizens 18 years or older, and pass a drug test and criminal background check.
