IRS open Saturday to help taxpayers solve problems

The Internal Revenue Service office at 380 Westminster St., Providence, will hold a special open house on Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help small businesses and individuals solve tax problems.

Nationwide, 200 IRS offices will hold open houses Saturday, said IRS spokeswoman Peggy Riley. "We are inviting taxpayers to come to the IRS office to work out issues they may have. We will be able to assist taxpayers that have received a notice from the IRS, those that need to set up a payment plan, issues with audits or even help them prepare a return," she said.
