BURRILLVILLE, R.I. -- A 17-year-old senior at Burrillville High School died Saturday afternoon after losing control of his car on Route 102, according to the police.

Mason R. Boltrushek, of 860 Round Top Rd., Harrisville, was heading north on his way to work at Wright Farm Restaurant about 4 p.m. when his car spun out of control. Boltrushek's Dodge Stratus was struck by a southbound pickup truck driven by Edward H. Braley Jr., 41, of 121 Carlton Ave., North Smithfield, the police said. Boltrushek's car then struck a car driven by Renee N. Jutras, 23, of 15 Rocky Hill Rd., North Scituate.

Boltrushek, the son of Roger and Debbie Boltrushek, was taken to Landmark Medical Center, where he died.

Braley and a passenger, Donna St. Jacques, of Pascoag, were also taken to Landmark, where they were released after treatment of minor injuries. Jutras and a passenger, Chase Henault, of Pascoag, were treated for minor injuries at the scene and refused to be taken to the hospital.

The accident is under investigation, but the police said weather was a factor.
