Weather conditions delay school starts in northern RI

Welcome back from winter break, but not too soon for schoolchildren in the northern part of Rhode Island.

Before mobilizing the children for school Monday morning, check whether they've got delays. Schools in Cumberland, Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence, North Smithfield and Woonsocket public schools are delayed one hour, and morning kindergarten or preschool in some of those communities has also been canceled.

Some charter schools, Catholic schools and child care centers are also delayed one hour, and activities at Naval Station Newport are delayed two hours for snow removal.
