PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Rhode Island's Congressional delegation is meeting this afternoon behind closed doors with Governor Carcieri.
The pols are not expected to discuss the governor's recent letter to the delegation discouraging Democrats' efforts to overhaul the nation's health-care system.
Instead, according to Carcieri spokeswoman Amy Kempe, the delegation is getting an update on the state's off-shore wind project.
"I think it shows how critical the issue is to the state," she said.
The Coastal Resources Management Council is delivering a presentation on the wind energy situation, according to Kempe, to the Governor Carcieri and U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse along with U.S. Representatives Patrick Kennedy and James Langevin. The state Economic Development Corporation is also in attendance.
The original version of this story was posted at 2:57 p.m. and updated at 3:26 and 6 p.m.
Correction: An earlier version of this story gave the incorrect name for the agency that delivered a presentation on wind energy.
