RI senators set another community meeting on health care

JOHNSTON, R.I. -- U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse have announced plans for another community dinner to elicit the response of constituents to proposed health insurance reform legislation.

The community dinner, similar to Thursday's in West Warwick, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Johnston Senior Center at 1291 Hartford Ave. Seating is limited.

U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy said Friday that he too will host a community meeting on health care reform on Sept. 3 -- the same day that U.S. Rep. James Langevin will be holding his second "town hall" meeting at Wilcox Park in Westerly. The location of Kennedy's event has yet to be determined.
