Jury picked for 'Rockefeller' kidnapping trial

BOSTON (AP) -- A jury has been picked for the kidnapping trial of the man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller.Prosecutors and defense lawyers finished selecting the jurors Wednesday. The panel of 16 includes nine woman and seven men.Rockefeller, whose real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter (GAYR'-hahrtz-ry-tur), is accused of snatching his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised visit in Boston last July. He and the girl were found six days later in Baltimore.He also is charged with assault and battery for allegedly shoving a social worker who was supervising the visit.Authorities say Gerhartsreiter is a German man who has used multiple aliases since moving to the United States in the late 1970s. His lawyers say he suffers from mental illness and was not criminally responsible for his actions.
